Final Thoughts on the Lake

Vin actually got on the tube.  While not photographed, Vin and I tubed together and it was quite entertaining for all.  For me because I couldn't stop laughing, and for the boys because Big Daddy spared no expense in trying to kill us.

G2 got to come up for the weekend to see the boys...

Since this photo, we have gotten a haircut, but does he not look like Bo Duke?  Forever dubbed...

Handsome baby is getting so big!

And bringing up the rear with a mess of curly locks and always a mess of food...

On our ride up from the lake, look who was waiting in the shade...

WHS' Perspective

While he doesn't know it, WHS does move to a different schedule than the big boys.  He does take 3-4 hour nap every day and at the lake it is closer to 4 hours.  So, while the big boys are off galavanting around, WHS gets some precious WHS time, too!

With Grammy in the water...

and on the land!

 With Mommy on land...

And by water...

And, for the first time, WHS can drive the "Beep" all by himself!  Now, THAT means he's a big boy!

The Flippers

While we were at the lake, JLS said, "Mom!  I tink I'm gonna do a back fwip!"  I said, "Ok."  And he walked to the edge of the boat and did it.  {so very FAR from my fear of diving as a little girl!} From then on, he was a flippin' fool...

And so was JBS...

And you know what that means...

Never to be left out of the fun!

Don't Forget the Little Guy!

When you can't find WHS, just look around for the nearest tree.  He is always making his mark!

But he never wants to be left out.  In his eyes, he is just as big as his big brothers...

And this one, I framed.

Love these stinky, sweaty, fishin' boys!

Fishin' at the Lake

Oh, how my boys love to fish!  Gratefully there is a pond right next to my parents lake house where they can fish until their hearts content...in the heat, with my dad:)  Grammy and I walked down for photo opps, but MAN! it was hot!

Cutie...

Big Catch! :)

Bringing one in!

You gotta kiss 'em!  But most people do it on their lips...

Cute fishin' pals...

NO Fear!

This was the first summer in what seems like forever that I wasn't pregnant, I wasn't sleep-deprived, and I wasn't post-surgery of whatever variety.  THIS summer I enjoyed the lake and so did little WHS. WHS watched and learned and he had no fear.

Goggled and dangerous...

 Lounging with Grammy...

Jumping off the boat...

They jumped and jumped and jumped...and jumped some more.
And this little guy never tired of it.
Ever!

4th of July

Where oh where did the summer go?  We completely enjoyed our summer and found ourselves flying through August at lightening speed.  As I mentioned previously, I had the amazing opportunity to attend The Stationery Academy the last weekend of July.  I returned home on my birthday (Sunday) and hit the ground running for the next week as the Craft Lady at our church's pre-school VBS.  We took a week off before JLS and JBS went to Tennis and Robot Camp respectively. In the midst of that, I somehow took on the Logo duty at our small elementary school of 1200 students. :)  I designed, ordered, sorted and sold all logo'd items which came to a head the week before school started.  All this amidst a beautiful flourish in Tippie Toads sales this summer.  It has been NUTS and busy and CRAZY, but Babe and I both feel completely blessed to be where we are.  We have big changes coming in our lives, but we are both resting faithfully knowing God is in control.

So, I left off last with the 4th of July.  We were invited by our favorite Yonder Way Farm (where we buy our meat and dairy) to meet them in their neighboring town of Round Top for their widely famous 4th of July parade.  We then drove to their wonderful farm 15 minutes away for a family cookout.  It was a beautiful day!

Most impressive Longhorn Cattle...

My baby is growing up...

The back-end of the Pie float :)

The youngest Sampler taking it easy in the shade... It was HAWT!

We then headed to Yonder Way Farm with other customers, too!

They had many, many, MANY free-range chickies.  Those of which might be in my freezer right now  :(

Little piggies, too...

Sweet JBS holding WHS up to see the MASSES of baby chicks...

 Country fun...

Swimming in a feeding trough...

Who is this cutie??

Does it get any better than this?

The land next door is for sale and I would be lying if we didn't get the sale sheet AND talk about living in the country the whole way home...
