In October, my sweet friend, Nida, took me to her hometown of Chicago for the Chicago Marathon. She was running the marathon and she bought me a ticket for my birthday. We stayed in her sister's downtown condo, met her Lithuanian parents and watched the marathon. We had a wonderful time and it was so good for my soul after having been sick for so long.
Boarding our plane...
Flying into Chicago...
Seeing the sights at night...
Picking up her number for the marathon...
After we signed in for the marathon, we spent the day with her parents. Her mom and dad are pure Lithuanian and have a full house to show all their treasures.
Then, they took me to a Lithuanian Restaurant. Nida showing me the sausage deli...
This was my lunch. It was unbelievably good. That said, image a girl with only 20% of her stomach to chow down on this...
Marathon morning...early early!
She's gotta be in there somewhere!
Nida's sister and I walking the race and cheering her on.
There she is!
After the marathon sights..."The Bean"
The view outside her sisters condo.
And SO much fun. I got to meet up with my sweet friend, Cindy, from Tulsa. She moved to Chicago a year ago. LOVED eating with her and her family and chatting it up with her sweet girls.
