WHS's 1st LAX Game

WHS had his first LAX game.  It was cold.  Cold to spectate at least.  He had a great time and there is very little more entertaining than watching a bunch of 8 year olds who have never played Lacross, playing Lacross.

What he doesn't have in skills, he makes up for in grit and perseverance.  This kid is amazing and I love him to pieces.  He is the perfect 3rd child :)

Sympathy Dog

This dog.  Babe bought him for me as my Sympathy Dog post life threatening illness.  It all relates back to my single years when my mom would take me to procedure that required me to be knocked out.  I always ended up with new shoes and we began to call them Sympathy Shoes.  Babe felt bad bc for all I went thru, I needed a whole new closet.  So, he asked if he could buy me a sympathy dog, a Standard Poodle, the dog of my choice.  And Ollie entered our lives.  He is weird.  He does odd things, but he gets more and more lovable every day.  Just when you think he can't, he snuggles closer or longer.  And he is, no doubt, a momma's dog.  He knows his job is to take care of me first, play with boys second.

At attention.

A cute snoozer.  Its that pink nose!

Always close...

Always in wonky positions...

When it got cold here, he required a blanket.

But this baby.  He knew.  He knew I had the flu.  He did not leave my side for the entire day.  I don't know if he sensed the illness or the fact that I didn't get up for 2 days, but he knew something was not right about me.  So, there he sat and guarded me and protected me as I healed.

I love this weird, odd, crazy, lovable poodle.

Teeth Pulled

A month ago I took all 3 boys to the orthodontist to check our status for the need for braces.  We have been told that JBS didn't need braces, so we wanted to confirm that. WHS knocked his baby front teeth out so his new teeth are wonky and we needed to check that.  JLS just has regular old crooked teeth, so we checked on that.  Sign them up!

It was confirmed that JBS is in the clear.  Money saved.  No braces for him.  Then, we saw the X-rays for JLS and WHS.  Whoa Bessie.  There are A LOT of teeth in there and not enough room.  JLS' teeth are progressing as they should, but WHS needed some help with removing a few that should have already come out.  Today, he had 2 upper teeth removed and it took no more than 10 minutes.

He was pretty nervous.  He slept with us last night because he was worried he would have bad dreams about his teeth.  Sweet boy.  This am, I could tell he was getting nervous too.  The minute he said, "I just don't want laughing gas", they said, "We are just going to give you a little bit of laughing gas...."  In the end, he did fantastic.  It truly took no more than 10 minutes.  The bleeding stopped in less than an hour, so no more gauze.  We headed straight to the grocery store to pick up the promised ice cream and pudding and home for a good day of snuggling in bed.

And here they are!  I had no idea, but as teeth begin to grow out, the roots dissolve knowing the adult tooth is pushing it out.  The one on the left showed signs of the adult tooth pushing it, but that root hasn't dissolved a bit.  It was hanging on for dear life.  Pretty sure that tooth would never have come on its own!  So, one very long tooth and one baby tooth for the Tooth Fairy tonight!

Mission Accomplished and surgery for this little guy a success.  Praise the Lord.
